Do you want to mirror your iPhone screen on your Mac desktop or laptop? Maybe you want to share a video with your family or teach a group of friends how to use a new app.

In this video, I’ll show you how to project your iPhone screen onto your Macbook in four simple steps.

Showing your iPhone screen on your Mac

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Macbook using the accessory cord that came with your iPhone.
  2. Open the QuickTime Player.
  3. Go to File > New Movie Recording. Your phone’s screen should appear immediately after choosing ‘New Movie Recording’.
  4. Open the Camera app on your iPhone and start recording from your iPhone (not from your Macbook!)

You can also change the orientation of your video to landscape by turning your phone sideways.

I use this to film myself with a higher quality rear facing camera while still seeing if my head is cut off on the monitor. I also use this when I’m using an iPhone as the camera inside a teleprompter.

Are you going to try this on your next video? Let me know how it goes!
